Illusions of Georgetown was founded by the original owner of Illusions of Shirlington in Arlington, VA on March 1st, 2015. Illusions of Georgetown has grown so much as a hair salon and has become the comfort salon boutique for all our guests and neighbors in Georgetown, D.C. At Illusions of Georgetown, we believe that beautiful hair starts with healthy hair. That's why we use only the best products and techniques to ensure that your hair is healthy, strong, and vibrant. Görkem Emir - Owner
Görkem is a seasoned stylist and Turkish native with over 15 years of experience in the salon industry. He honed his skills in his family-owned salon in Turkey, where he developed a deep understanding of hair artistry, color techniques, and salon business ethics. Raised in the heart of the industry, Görkem stays current with the latest trends and brings a modern approach to every client.
He specializes in a wide range of services including blondes, brunettes, balayage, color correction, updos, and precision cuts for both men and women—from fine to thick textures, short to long styles.
Görkem has been recognized as one of Modern Luxury DC’s Leading Health & Beauty Experts of 2024. He is certified by top global color brands including L’Oréal, Goldwell, Tricol, Wella, and Aveda, and brings both technical expertise and creative vision to every appointment

Kayla Roenfeldt
Graduate from Aveda Institute in Washington, D.C., Kayla has been in the salon for 10 years. In 2018, she completed advanced cutting techniques at the Goldwell Institute in New York City. She loves helping clients find their ideal cut and color! Kayla is Bellami Hair Extension Certified. She specializes with Tape-Ins,
I-Tips, K-Tips, Weft, and Hand-Tied Weft.
William Brown
William graduated from Page University of Cosmetology in the mid 80's. Big hair, spiral perms and mall bangs for the ladies. The Bi-Level, better known as the mullet and the surfer cut were the first first choice for the guys. In the past 30-40 years, William has seen similar styles to these evolved through the years. Some made a splash and some never did. He moved to the DMV Metro Area in 2005 and has been fortunate enough to work with Television personalities, Musicians, Singers and also Political figures throughout his career here in D.C. He has grown as a Stylist and as a person as well. He has been with "Illusions of Georgetown" for nine years. He always heard that "If you love what you do for your career, you never work a hard day in your life."
Josh Le
Josh has been with Illusions for 6 years after graduating from Paul Mitchell in 2017. He loves working with long hair and playing with balayage techniques. Updos, styling, and braiding are also what Josh is really passionate about!
Suelene Roy
Suelene is a passionate beauty enthusiast and makeup artist, bringing her expertise and dedication to making her clients look and feel their absolute best.
