llusions of Georgetown was founded on March 1, 2015, by the original owner of Illusions of Shirlington in Arlington, Virginia. Since then, it has grown into a trusted boutique salon and a welcoming space for clients and neighbors throughout Georgetown, D.C.

Görkem Emir - Owner
Görkem, owner of Illusions of Georgetown, is a stylist and Turkish native with over 16 years of experience in the salon industry. He began his journey in his family-owned salon in Turkey, where he developed a strong foundation in hair artistry, advanced color techniques, and professional salon standards. Growing up immersed in the industry, Görkem continues to stay ahead of the latest trends, bringing a modern and refined approach to every client he serves.
He specializes in a wide range of services, including blondes, brunettes, balayage, color correction, updos, and precision haircuts for both men and women. Whether working with fine or thick textures, or creating short or long styles, Görkem tailors each service to enhance the client’s natural beauty and lifestyle.

Kayla Roenfeldt
Graduate from Aveda Institute in Washington, D.C., Kayla has been in the salon for 10 years. In 2018, she completed advanced cutting techniques at the Goldwell Institute in New York City. She loves helping clients find their ideal cut and color! Kayla is Bellami Hair Extension Certified. She specializes with Tape-Ins,
I-Tips, K-Tips, Weft, and Hand-Tied Weft.
William Brown
William graduated from Page University of Cosmetology in the mid 80's. Big hair, spiral perms and mall bangs for the ladies. The Bi-Level, better known as the mullet and the surfer cut were the first first choice for the guys. In the past 30-40 years, William has seen similar styles to these evolved through the years. Some made a splash and some never did. He moved to the DMV Metro Area in 2005 and has been fortunate enough to work with Television personalities, Musicians, Singers and also Political figures throughout his career here in D.C. He has grown as a Stylist and as a person as well. He has been with "Illusions of Georgetown" for nine years. He always heard that "If you love what you do for your career, you never work a hard day in your life."
Josh Le
Josh has been with Illusions for 6 years after graduating from Paul Mitchell in 2017. He loves working with long hair and playing with balayage techniques. Updos, styling, and braiding are also what Josh is really passionate about!
Suelene Roy
Suelene is a passionate beauty enthusiast and makeup artist, bringing her expertise and dedication to making her clients look and feel their absolute best. Her specialties include long haircuts, flawless blowouts, and expertly crafted balayage, highlights, and keratin treatments. She has a commitment to ongoing education and staying at the forefront of industry trends, techniques and styles. “I believe in the transformative power of a great hair style and makeup look, and I am dedicated to exceeding your expectations with every visit.” Suelene is Bellami Hair Extension Certified. Amanda Amos
As one of the original stylists at Illusions of Georgetown, Amanda helped establish the salon's foundation before expanding her creative horizons through music and floral design. Now returning with nearly 20 years of experience, she brings a deepened understanding of color theory and organic beauty to her craft.
Specializing in soft, lived-in color, seamless gray blending, and vivid transformations, Amanda creates looks that are both beautiful and unique to each individual she works with. Her approach combines technical expertise with thoughtful consultation to ensure each client feels seen and understood.
When not in the salon, Amanda enjoys pottery, cultivating her plant collection, and hiking with her dog. Her diverse creative pursuits continue to inspire her work behind the chair.
