Illusions of Georgetown was founded by the original owner of Illusions of Shirlington in Arlington, VA on March 1st, 2015. Illusions of Georgetown has grown so much as a hair salon and has become the comfort salon boutique for all our guests and neighbors in Georgetown, D.C. At Illusions of Georgetown, we believe that beautiful hair starts with healthy hair. That's why we use only the best products and techniques to ensure that your hair is healthy, strong, and vibrant. We also believe that every client is unique, and we strive to create a personalized experience that meets your individual needs.

Gorkem Emir - Owner
Gorkem is a Turkish native with 15+ years in the salon industry. He worked & learned all his unique hair techniques, color magic, and salon business skills/ethics in his family-owned hair salon in Turkey. Growing up in the salon industry, Gorkem is always up to date with the latest hair trends and specializes in blondes, brunettes, color corrections, balayage, short to long hair, fine to thick, men's cuts, updos, and more! Gorkem was selected by Modern Luxury DC to be one of the "Leading Health & Beauty Expert 2024". He has worked with many well known color brands and is certificated with L'Oreal, Goldwell, Tricol, Wella, and Aveda.

I-Tips, K-Tips, Weft, and Hand-Tied Weft.

Graham is entering his 25th year as a color specialist! Classically trained at L'Oreal UK Academy working at Andrew Collinge and Charles Worthington salons. He had the privilege of assisting in opening a L'Oreal flagship salon in Dubai, followed by working for one of the premier salons in Grand Cayman before continuing his work in the U.S
Graham is entering his 25th year as a color specialist! Classically trained at L'Oreal UK Academy working at Andrew Collinge and Charles Worthington salons. He had the privilege of assisting in opening a L'Oreal flagship salon in Dubai, followed by working for one of the premier salons in Grand Cayman before continuing his work in the U.S. in 2012. Graham works extensively with L'Oreal color ranges and the full Kerastase portfolio to achieve the latest looks and trends, he loves to keep updated by attending ongoing training in the newest techniques. He has the privilege of working with many D.C. local and national television networks to color and style many of the anchors, reports and producers.

Some made a splash and some never did. He moved to the DMV Metro Area in 2005 and has been fortunate enough to work with Television personalities, Musicians, Singers and also Political figures throughout his career here in D.C. He has grown as a Stylist and as a person as well. He has been with "Illusions of Georgetown" for nine years. He always heard that "If you love what you do for your career, you never work a hard day in your life."
